   NARI

   The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) is a not-for-profit trade association with more than 50 years of industry experience. NARI represents professional remodeling contractors, product manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, trade publications, utilities and lending institutions. The association is committed to enhancing the professionalism of the remodeling industry and serving as an ally to homeowners.

   
"The National Association of the Remodeling Industry is dedicated to being the best resource for knowledge and training in the remodeling industry."


   There are less than ten remodeling companies in Tennessee that are members of this prestigious national remodeling organization.

   The NARI professional remodeler is pledged to uphold the association's strict Code of Ethics and is dedicated to the professionalism and integrity of the remodeling industry.

   ORBA

   The Oak Ridge Business Association (ORBA) is a local group of businesses that submit to an ethical code of business conduct. Listed below is that code of conduct.

   ORBA Code of Business Conduct

As a representative of my profession, all can be assured that:
  1. I will be honest and truthful with all my clients and prospective customers.
  2. I will provide the quality of services in a timely manner.
  3. I will provide the quality of services as I have promised.
  4. I will provide the quality of services at the prices I have quoted.
  5. I will attempt to follow up and return any client phone calls or correspondence within 48 hours.
  6. I will live up to the ethical and professional standards of my profession.





   BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU

   Before a homeowner works with a contractor, handyman or a remodeler, a quick call to the Better Business Bureau is a good point to inquiry into any company. Any reputable company will be listed as a BBB member. But even if a company is a member, there are 3 levels of standing:
  1. Unsatisfactory = Unresolved homeowner problems.
  2. Satisfactory = Homeowner problems, but the BBB had to intervene to prompt the company to settle a dispute.
  3. Satisfactory w/no complaints = This is the best category to be awarded. Southland Remodelers has received the distinction year after year.
